Get Your Freedom Back With Your Reactive Dog
Stop organizing your life around avoiding other dogs.
Learn how to help your dog  — so you can get back to enjoying walks and adventures together.
Without obedience commands, corrections, incompatible behaviors, pattern games, scattered treats or enormous amounts of distance, you'll learn how to work with the emotion driving the reaction.
I HEARÂ YOU...WILL THIS EVER GET BETTER
If your dog has to look away to stay calm, what happens when he can't?
Â
Because You Don't Want to Spend the Rest of Your Dog's Life Avoiding Dogs.
Â
This is the goal is:
Dog sees another dog → remains calm → continues walk
The dog sees the trigger. We're not distracting him from it. We're teaching him how to look and be calm (neutral).
I'm teaching you how to get to something much more useful than treat scatters, disengagement, incompatible behaviors, U-turns and confusing amounts of distance.
Your dog sees another dog across the street.
They look.
They remain calm instead of immediately exploding into barking and lunging.
You know exactly what to do.
You train for a moment.
And then you keep walking.
You're no longer spending the entire walk hiding behind cars, turning around, distracting your dog or desperately trying to get their attention before they see the trigger.
You can actually walk your dog while you're training your dog and eventually just walk him.
Most people see exciting results in 12 training sessions, but not with walking nose-to-nose past every dog on a narrow sidewalk.
And when you repeat this process, you not only get your walks back with your dog, you get closer to the freedom of taking off the treat bag. The long term goal is no more treats, distractions or correction.Â
I’m not gonna lie or mislead you though, that takes time and each dog is different. You can watch Bosley, a former Barkaholic student and see that his mom is no longer using treats. She started the program in March and this video was taken in June. 👇
The short term goal is to get you out walking your dog and generalizing other dogs, getting reps and rewiring his emotions so that you can go on adventures, if you want.
Â
Most people get excited with their results after ~ 12 training sessions.
You've Tried Everything. So Why Is Your Dog Still Reacting?
Â
Maybe you've been told to:
- Add more distance.Â
- Scatter treats on the ground.
- Ask for “watch me,” sit, heel or other obedience behaviors.
- Wait for your dog to disengage.
- Avoid dogs that are too difficult.
- Correct the barking or lunging with an e-collar.
- Distract your dog before they notice the trigger.
Â
And some of those things may help you get through the moment.
But that's not the same thing as changing the cause of the problem.
Because what happens when your dog sees the other dog first?
Â
What happens when they won't disengage?
What happens when you can't create enough distance?
What happens when your dog won't take the treat?
What happens when your neighborhood doesn't give you the perfect training setup?
You're back to managing the reaction.
And that's exhausting.
Â
I don't want to teach you how to get better at avoiding your dog's triggers.
I want to teach your dog how to look at them and remain calm.
Â
Some of those things may help you get through the moment.
Â
But you're still left with a problem:Â
Â
“I'm doing everything I've been told to do. Why is my dog still reacting? What if every walk is like this forever”
Â
Here's what I want you to understand:
Â
Your dog doesn't need to learn to ignore other dogs.
Â
They need to learn that they can look at them and be okay.
Â
That's where Barkaholics is different.
Your Dog Doesn't Need to Learn to Ignore Other Dogs.
Â
He needs to learn that they can look at them and be okay.
That's the fundamental difference behind The Rewire Method.
Instead of immediately trying to make your dog look away, I teach you how to change what happens when your dog looks.
We decrease the intensity.
We control the environment so you and your dog can learn.
And then we repeat the experience until seeing another dog doesn't automatically produce the same enormous reaction.
Look → Control Intensity → Calm Nervous System → Progress
You're not just trying to get your dog through the encounter.
You're working on changing the response you get the next time.
The Rewire Method
Going from barking and lunging to calmer walks isn't one giant leap.
There are three milestones:
SAFETY → REWIRE → FREEDOM
Help your dog feel safe: Â Get your dog thinking and learning.Â
If your dog doesn’t feel safe, he won’t take treats or remain calm when he looks at a trigger. Decreasing his anxiety and being overwhelmed outside without a trigger is the first step.
Â
Rewire the emotions driving the behavior: Teach your dog to look at another dog without immediately reacting.
This is the secret to decreasing intensity so that you and your dog can learn the steps necessary to change his emotions and control the environment. Both ends of the leash are learning at a lower intensity. This is where the rewire starts.Â
Â
Freedom: Take that new response into the parks, beach and your neighborhood so you can walk AND train.
Â
The immediate goal is to get you and your dog walking again without all the drama, and yes, you’ll be training during each walk but your dog will go from a 10 to a 3 or 4. How would it feel if you could walk your dog without all the nasty looks from your neighbors?Â
Â
Because each dog has different levels of fear, sensitivity and learning history, I can’t tell you how long it will take to finally stop using food during your walks. What I can tell you is that most dogs shock me with how quickly they learn and that most clients are over the moon excited to be at this point anyway. Life starts to become normal again.
MILESTONE #1:
HELP YOUR DOG FEELÂ SAFE
Â
Before you can Rewire, a reactive dog' Â emotions he needs to be able to think & feel safe.
Â
You've probably experienced this:
At home, your dog knows exactly what to do.
Outside?
It's like their brain disappears.
He won't take treats. He won't respond. He can't seem to think. He seems disobedient or stubborn.Â
So we don't start by throwing your dog into trigger situations and hoping you can control him.
First, we're going to build the foundation that tells us your dog is ready to learn.
Â
Inside Safety, you'll learn how to:
- Know what's actually driving your dog's reaction.
- Break the barking cycle so you're not accidentally strengthening it.
- Catch the reaction before the explosion.
- Create safety before you train.
- Find what your dog actually values.
- Build a dog who can think instead of automatically react.
- Create calm feelings outside instead of hoping.Â
- Use food to create change—not dependence—and speed up learning.
Â
The Safety Milestone
We're looking for something very important:
Your dog can be outside and still think.
They can eat.
They can respond.
They can offer familiar behaviors.
They can engage with you.
Now we have a dog who is emotionally ready to begin working around a trigger.
And that's when we Rewire their emotions.
MILESTONE #2:
REWIRE YOUR DOG'S EMOTIONS
Now we change what happens when your dog sees another dog.
This is where things get very different.
Instead of hoping you encounter the perfect dog at the perfect distance at exactly the right moment, you'll learn how to decrease intensity and control the training environment.
That gives your dog a chance to learn.
And it gives you a chance to learn.
You'll discover:
- How to change the feeling so you can change the reaction.
- How to create the right intensity for emotional change.
- How to teach your dog to look without reacting.
- Exactly what to do and when to do it.
- How to recognize when your dog is ready for more.
- How to keep stress from sabotaging your progress.
- Exactly what to do when your dog does react (because learning isn’t perfect).Â
Â
And you'll watch the entire Rewire process demonstrated with reactive dogs so you can see what this looks like in actual training and how to do this with a reactive dog.Â
Â
The goal isn't to make your dog look away.
It's to make looking less of a big deal.
Â
MILESTONE #3:Â
GET TO FREEDOM
This is the part you've been waiting for.
Because you didn't buy a reactive-dog program because you wanted to become really good at controlled training setups.
You want to walk your dog.
Now we're going to take what your dog learned during Rewire and start bringing it into real life.
You'll learn how to:
- Bring Rewire onto your actual walks.
- Know when Rewire is working.
Â
And this is where something important changes.
Instead of avoiding dogs, you start looking for opportunities to practice.
See dog.
Train.
Keep walking.
That's Freedom beginning.
Â
Most people see results in 12 Training Days. Not 12 Consecutive Days.
What if you could see results that get you excited after 12 training lessons.
Some exercises need repetition over several days before your dog is ready to progress.
That's intentional.
You can fit the training days around your schedule, but consistency matters.
Most of my private reactive dog clients get excited with the result around training session 5 or 6. Each dog is different, but we're only focusing on one issue.Â
Some people prefer to spend Saturday and Sunday training, if so you should see results after 4 weekends.Â
Your short-term goal is simple:
Walk AND train without the barking-and-lunging hassle controlling the entire walk.
Your dog may still need food/training.
Because he’s still learning and you’re rewiring how he feels
Because the truth is, this takes time and repetition.
But now you're actually able to use the dogs you encounter as opportunities to practice instead of obstacles you have to escape.
Â
And Then Something Else Starts to Happen..
With repetition, training starts fading into the background.
Maybe you don't need to focus on every dog anymore.
Maybe the bait bag stays home and you put a handful of treats in your pocket in case you encounter a particularly difficult situation.
Eventually, instead of thinking:
Where's the next dog?
Do I have enough treats?
Where can I escape if another dog comes around the corner?
You realize...
You're just walking your dog.
There's no arbitrary deadline for that.
Dogs are individuals. Their histories and reactions are different.
But that's where we're headed.
Less management. Less worrying. More walking.

WHO THIS IS FOR
This Is For You If...
Â
Your dog barks, lunges, freezes, fixates or becomes overwhelmed when they see another dog.
You've tried adding distance, distractions, obedience, treat scatters or other management strategies—but you're still organizing your walks around avoiding reactions.
Your dog knows behaviors at home but seems unable to think when it matters.
You're tired of wondering exactly how far away you need to be, when to mark, when to reward and whether you're doing it right.
And most importantly:
Â
You don't just want another way to manage your reactive dog.
Â
You want to change the reaction underneath the behavior.
WHO IT'S NOT FOR
Â
This Probably Isn't For You If...
You want a guaranteed overnight fix.
You aren't willing to practice consistently.
You want to suppress barking and lunging through corrections rather than work through the Rewire process.
Or you expect your dog to walk inches away from every unfamiliar dog after 12 days.
That's not what I'm promising.
Â
I'm teaching you a repeatable process for helping your dog see another dog, remain calmer and continue training during your walks.
Don't Take My Word For It.
"Thank you for your great instructions. I've worked through the first 2 weeks of the Barkaholics Class. Sven is doing much better around dogs and human triggers. We had a big success today with two human guests and he didn't bark, growl or lunge at them. My familiy said, "Mom, it is working!" I've trained dogs before but Sven is different. Thank you for your great instruction."

Do We Offer a Guarantee or Refund?
I get it, you can’t see what you’re buying so it feels uncomfortable.
And you may have purchased something in the past that didn’t deliver what you thought.
It’s unethical to offer a guarantee on behavior and I would never lead you astray. A doctor can’t guarantee you won’t sick and a teacher can’t guarantee a child will go to Harvard. The same is true with dog training.
Since this is a digital course where you get full access, we do not offer refunds. The videos on our social media pages are exactly how we train.
If you've completed the training, followed the instructions and you're still struggling, show me what's happening so I can help.
You'll need to provide videos and show me the work you've done so I can see where the problem is (or be willing to make a video so share).
I'm happy to help you determine what needs to change.
The only requirement?
You have to be willing to implement the feedback.
I can't change your dog's behavior if you're unwilling to change something that's getting in the way of their progress.
But if you're doing the work and you're open to coaching?
I won't leave you guessing.
Unfortunately, there are several things that can sabotage your results. Please email or DM me if you’re struggling at any point and we’ll work through it via email, text or facetime.

Yes, I want support
Hi, I'm Sherry, the founder of the Barkaholics Program
Like you, I struggled with my reactive dogs. I was frustrated by the lack of quality and practical training advice.
I tried countless methods and watched hours of videos, only to find vague advice and theory without instruction.
Finally, I found a solution that rewires a dog's emotional response. I used it with my dogs and with thousands of clients dog's.Â
I created this program so that you can have access to all the steps without paying for private training, which is exactly what I would have wanted 16 years ago with Sadie.Â
AFTER 3 YEARS OF OBEDIENCE CLASSES
this Barkaholics student said..
"My biggest accomplishment is that Mabel no longer acts like a lunatic on walks. Now she walks calmly and looks up at me."
